The Five Spot Club

The Five Star Club offers live music upstairs & a DJ lounge downstairs! Most nights have a $5 cover charge before midnight and $10 past 12:00.

I've never been to this club before, but from the looks of the website's pictures it seems like a pretty cool place. If anyone has been there...let me know what you thought! Check out the club's website for a full schedule of events planned!

Club is located on 5 S. Bankstreet, Philadelphia.

Club GLAM

Club Glam is a little more 'glamorous' (hence the name) than what I normally showcase on this blog, but I thought I would give you something a little different for today.

Club Glam is located at 52 S. Second Street in Philly. For all you MTV fans, the recent Philadelphia Real World cast visited this bar frequently. Infact if you remember the episode where MJ met that blonde girl (Nicole) who didn't have $$ for a taxi ride back to NJ, welp...Club Glam is where they met! (interesting & useful information, I know! haha).

Anyway the club is one of the first in Philly to offer a more upscale feel. Infact club visitors have included Cuba Gooding Jr. and members of the Eagles. The place is labeled as a Bar/Club and is open everyday from 5PM- 2AM. It isn't a big place however, capacity is 40 dinner room/ 100 bar.

The Club plays dance, hip-hop, rap, funk, techno, and house depending on the time of day or particular night.

If you ever tire of the hectic 'college bar scene' check this place out. One note of advise however. You might want to hit up Club Glam after you just had a successful trip to AC with some big winnings! Or... if you're a girl work your magic & get the guys to buy you drinks! WHY? This place isn't cheap. Martinis run for $10 a piece. Bottled beers (domestic & imported) run at $5 a bottle. Draft beers are also $5.

If your feeling good & have the $$ to spend there is also an extensive list for Bottle Service which includes, Jack Daniel's Whiskey for $275....Absolut Vodka for $200....and even something called Louis XIII $2000!!! TOO rich for my blood!

I think I might head there sometime just to check it out, but I will definately just be ordering a few beers!

JILLIAN'S

This place has been described as a giant Chuck E Cheese for adults! The place has 3 restaurants, 20 bowling alleys, cigar bar, 10 pool tables, arcade, ping-pong tables, and 3 huge bars! Soon they will be adding a 'dance club' called the Love Shack! During the day some kids are there with adults but after 9PM it is strictly 21 and older only.

Jillian's is a very relaxed place to hang out with friends. If you aren't in the mood for JUST a bar scene check out Jillian's sometime! There is so much to do here, you won't be bored!

Jillian's is located in Franklin Mills Mall, Philadelphia which is in Northeast Philly.
Check out the HomePage to see ALL the place has to offer!

Brownies 23 East

Brownies is a great place for the college-age folks!! Students from St. Joseph's frequently go to this bar, as well as other colleges around the area. Brownies is best known for its live music every night with appearances of local popular cover bands. And most of the bands are pretty good if you ask me! Another good thing about Brownies is parking should never be a problem with the spacious parking lot! Personally, I think their prices are very reasonable if you aren't partial to a certain beer. I'm a fan of Light beers so I'll switch between Miller-Lite, Coors Light, or Bud Light depending on the specials...it all has the same effect anyway! =)

Here's Brownies Drink Specials for the Week, Enjoy!!

Wednesday: $1 U-Call-It's from 10:00- Midnight
Thursdays Sink or Swim: 50 Cent Drafts, 75 Cent Drinks (10-12), $1 Bud & Bud-Light Bottles

Chickie & Pete's

I've posted previously about Chickie & Pete's but I just went the other night so I thought I would give my own personal feedback.

There are several Chickie & Pete's throughout Philly....I went to the 'big' one in South Philly.
It's located at 1526 Packer Avenue. This bar is known as 'South Philly's, big, shiny, crab-frying sports bar.'

The bar is very big and attracts large crowds. I went with a group of friends for a recent Phillies game (mostly just as a PreGame spot), but it was a really good time. It gets pretty crowded in there & we had to wait about 45 mins for a big table for the 10 of us but you can hang out right by the bars until your table is ready (at which time they will announce it over the speakers).

I suggest checking out this bar for a fun night & a great spot to watch a game! Also, don't forget to get some food to coat your stomach as you consume all that beer!! I'm a picky eater and I loved the food, especially the Old Bay-dusted Crab Fries...yummy!! They also have chicken sandwiches, poppers, mozzarella sticks, wings, and lots of other great food! Enjoy!
